Retrofitting existing brake levers as e-brakes--LYEN version

Hello,

This is my first build, so I have some questions, as e-biking is new territory for me.

I'm using a CA v3 and a LYEN controller. I also bought, from Lyen, an add-on ebrake to make my existing brake levers e-brakes.

I have the picture below.

I assume I attach the sensor portion to the brake housing, and the magnet to the brake handle? So, when the brake handle moves away from the housing, the switch is activated?

Is the sensor itself polar? Do I have to place it in a correct orientation relative to the magnet for it to work?

I want the e-brake to engage early in the pull of the lever, so I can use the lever as a sort of clutch (to cut the motor but not stop the bike hard). Do I have to place the magnet a precise distance from the sensor to make this happen?

Is there a screen on the CA v3 that will show the actuation of the e-brake?

Thanks all.

Not sure how far from the sensor the magnet will work from but I can say that these particular sensors work very well.

How soon it engages all depends on your placement of the sensor relative to the magnet, took about 10 minutes of messing around with it to find the ideal spot on my bike.

I bought the same one from aliexpress, cost ten bucks but they forgot to send the magnet  I just chipped off a piece of old hard drive magnet and used that.

Like you, I like it to work when the lever is only pulled 2 or 3 mm. however they are only on-off switches and the ebrake will engage, no clutch I'm afraid.

Yeah I should have moved it to the bottom of the lever by now and glued it on but just can't seem to find the time (always out riding) :D
