Hello,

I just got a Ryobi 40V cordless, brushless mower. It came with 2 Li-on batteries. One small one (55Wh battery) and the other is a larger, 94Wh battery. It won't quite mow my yard.

I have a 36V bottle cage battery for my ebikes that has been retired in favor of a new one. It measures 39V, no load, after charging. When it was new it was a 36V 10Ah pack. I am sure that I could cut my whole yard with this battery. The thing is that I don't know how to hook it up.

The ebike battery output has Anderson connectors.

The battery has 4 terminals. I am sure that 2 are for charging and the other 2 are for discharging.

The mower input appears to have 3 terminals.

Thank you for any help that can be provided.

Jeff

Good plan, but I can't help you with the terminals. Take the thing apart, and you should be able to identify which pin does what.

Or one of us can, if you post a good clear picture of the wiring, and where each wire connects to the bms inside.

The other option is to simply do the yard in sections. It fits my routine ok to do so. Every evening I spend 3 min picking up the days dog shit, and since you don't have to yank cords to get it going, easy enough to add 5 min of mowing to the routine. Less than 10 min as the sun goes down, no sweat.
