Sakuu has their headquarters and lab in San Jose, near San Francisco in California. They state the chemistry is "Lithium Metal anode", whatever that means. They are calling this their "Cypress" cell. Lithium-Metal anodes have been known for quite some time, due to their high energy potential. Early examples only provided low current and a short life due to dendrite formation.
1. According to them, the copper and aluminum foil collectors of a conventional battery costs about 10% of the packs total cost, and by switching to polymer collectors they saved 7% on the pack cost from that upgrade alone.
2. They seem to be touting the weight savings too, possibly for sales to aircraft applications.
3. They have a dry printing process that is supposed to be faster and cheaper to produce. There is no solvent in the electrolyte, which would need to be dried. They are calling this their "Kavian" platform.
4. They claim cell destructive testing shows no fire danger.
It "looks like" the youtube channel "Munro Live" has verified the major performance parameters and is putting their stamp of verification on them.
