Hi to anyone that can help or shed some light on the issue I am having.
I currently have 2 scooters that I am trying to upgrade to lithium ion batteries. They are a Schwinn s500 and an Ezip 900. The batteries are 18650 Battery NE1003H 36v 7800 mAh 280 Wh 30 cells purchased on Ebay. They were cheap enough and hoped they would do the job. I got 4 of them planning to run them in parallel for 36V 15.6 mAh. They also fit perfectly in the battery box without modifying and keeping the stock look. Prior to these batteries I was using 36V SLA's with no issues.
Current configuration on both is 36V controllers and 1 36V 7800 pack. Have yet to add the second pack. The problem is when starting off on full throttle after a few seconds the power cuts off. If you let off the throttle the power comes back after another few seconds. The only way around this is to gradually increase power but hitting 19mph immediately cuts power again no matter how careful. Is this a problem with the batteries? Will adding the second pack in parallel help? Do I need to replace the BMS on the packs? Not sure where to really start.

Thanks,
Dan

Well I added the second battery and all seems well. I have not taken it on a long ride yet but it has no issues cutting out anymore and cruises at 22mph. I know eventually the motor will give up but I will have fun in the meantime. I am just hoping that these $45 batteries can get me better range then the old lead. They certainly save weight. I am ordering 2 more for the ezip 900. I am sure I can get 4 of them squeezed in there.

The load on one 7.8Ah pack will be too great so the voltage drop (sag) will be below the LVC (Low Voltage Cut off) of the controller. the controller will shut down to protect the battery. You already found out that adding the second battery pack was the solution :thumb:

For more range just add extra pack(s).

Greetings Endless Sphere individuals, similar problem except it is on a direct drive bike, front-wheel 36V controller, I think 15 amp. I have 5 NE1003H's hooked up in parallel and the wheel does not even budge. Please advise.

Original poster, what do you charge these batteries up to when they are full??

I am running two of the packs in parallel and are 43.6V hot off the charger. Not sure what voltage your batteries are but you will need at least 36V for the motor to turn with a 36V controller.
