Separate battery power for each motor (dual eMTB)?

So this is probably a retarded question, but...

With dual motors, why not power each motor separately, in it's own circuit? It just seems like you're dividing the power output equally either way--no?

You are powering the speed controls separately & equally to do this. All you'll need is a "Y" harness to connect both esc's to one receiver to sync them together. For that you need to eliminate one power wire from the 2nd esc, usually the red one.

Why separate when you can wire (2) 6S together in series for 12S and have 12S voltage to each motor.

i actually have this same question. currently i am running everything in 2 separate sections that only meet at the Wiiceiver.(check picture below, Red Line is the separate sections. ignore the tape, its temporary) each motor connects to its own ESC, bec and battery. the batteries are in series 2x4s 5000mah = 8s 5000mah. is there any downside co connecting everything together on 1 circuit and moving the batteries to parallel?

You can have uneven battery discharge and not notice one is below LVC.

Yeah, there are more benefits to having them together IMO. You'll get more voltage for one. You could set it up as 2S2P but I like to keep only 2 packs in series for ease of use.
