Hi,

I have been trying to set up my Sevcon Gen 4 controller with a ME1115 motor, and I keep getting the error "Motor Slave in Wrong State" (Note: I am only running one motor). I called Sevcon and they said it was some sort of CAN error, but they wouldn't help me further.

Has anyone else experienced this problem before or have any advice?

Thank you!

You can set the state of a sevcon to a master or a slave.

In my dual controller setup I run 1 as the master and 1 as the slave. The master gets all the signals throttle brakes and controls the contactor etc.

The slave just listens to the master.

You have 2 places to change that setting.

In the search window search master or mstr and set your controller to a master.
IN the top there is an option for node 1 node 2 and maybe node 0. You need to set that to what ever node is master ( I think node 1 or node 0 is master)

If you can't get it in a coupe days I will hook up to my bike and look at the settings to be a little more clear.

Sevcon has horrible support. I hate them but they do have a fairly reputable controller. :(
