Recently Chalo mentioned a 'Shockster" in another thread. This is a circa 2000 "Rube Goldberg" device that is intended to add rear suspension to a 26 inch hard tail mountain bike. I thought, well that is interesting .... but I could find very little information on it. I found a few reviews about evenly spread between good and bad. I found the weight and the fact it adds 3 inches to the wheelbase. That was it. I also found that there were some "New In The BOX" units for sale on Fleabay .... so yes, like a fool, I ordered one. I can not fit it to any of the three canti-lever frames I have.
Here are some salient facts:
This unit is for a nominal 26 inch wheel/tire bicycle.
Distance between rear dropouts is 135 mm.
Distance center to center between Cantilever bosses is 85 mm.
Weight (with hardware) is 1.53 KG (3.37 pounds)
Adds approximately 3 inches to the length of the wheelbase.
The distance from the center-line of the rear axle to the center-line of the cantilever bosses must be 253 mm (plus or minus 5mm).
Will NOT work with Disk Brakes.
Will NOT work with Drum Brakes (I tried to fit a Sturmey Archer RXL-RD3).
I scanned in the full manual and made a PDF file of it.
Anyone interested should be able to download it from my google drive (6.7MB):

If you have a problem with Google Drive them PM me with your email address ... I will email it to you.
If anyone feels the need to make the mistake that I did, then PM me and I will make you an excellent deal on this thing.
