Review.
I had an opportunity to try this helmet on at the local Cycle Gear outlet in my hometown over the holiday. Apologies – no pictures to show, however I can describe well enough what was learned.
This is a well-constructed ¾ helmet all-around from the shell to the removable lining to the riveted chin strap with double-D clasp. It equitably trades visibility for fit and protection, affording the best balance of all worlds. Well-suited for goggles, though may also be fitted with an aftermarket 5-snap fixed-shield easily found for about $14 USD.
Pros: Fiberglass, well-constructed throughout, affordable, relatively lightweight, good styling with lots of color choices. Very secure fit for appropriate head shapes. Best protection of the open-face helmets. Removable washable interior. Widely available through many outlets.
Cons: A 5-snap shield will not flip/rotate out of the way, although the visor can be removed to facilitate a 3-snap flip-shield. Pricing starts about $210 USD.
Conclusion: A good ¾ helmet, recommended for those willing to live with small compromises. Strongly recommend trying out fit before purchase.
