Sodium-ion ebike battery packs

How do you get 48v 15Ah capacity out of the shark battery pack when each cell is only 3v 1500mAh. By my math you would need 16S and 10P, but the Shark pack doesn't hold 160 18650 cells.

Maybe you could you cram 15 or 16 pouch cells in one and do 15s1p?

Here are the cells Hakadi lists on their website:

Here is Sriko:

You can't buy this yet, you can make a donation and hope they get manufacturing going. If it doesn't work out, they will donate your money to a 'green clean donation', whatever that is.
From the indiegogo page:
What we need for full production:

  • We need supporters just like you to spread the word!
  • We prefer funding from people like you!
  • We have confirmed all our testing is correct and ready for production!
  • If we fail our funds would be used for a green clean donation!

I do not trust Engelhorn tech to assemble a battery at this point.

Remember Engelhorn tech is just a battery pack assembler (like EM3EV).

If I calculate the volume of a jumbo shark pack like:

Then divide by the volume of this 36.5Ah pouch:

Then multiply by 36.5Ah, I do get suspiciously close to 15Ah:
14.021608643457

I've never had a shark pack before, but I do have a lithium ion equivalent of their "48v 15 ah Battery Pack Trad" option and it's something like 22Ah with Samsung 35E cells:

So it does feel like they are promising less than the lithium ion equivalents, and inline with general volume of a pouch cell solution.
