hi, friends like 2 years ago i start into this forum looking for some help for electronic boards. at mi criterthis forum is the best and serious i found. Now after 2 years of hundred and hundred of hours working and a lot of money the solar e-bike is quite ready. The pannel is powered with satellite solar cells about 230w, the electric -electronic board is ready ; 2 bat pack A123, 48v, 15 amp. all reading line and control trought microcomputer , ssr, and microelectronics., all cels under visual control , all managed from computer with via nano usb and 7´´ touch screen lcd. 500w rear hub and 250w front wheel regen. regen controller and pedals of course.I built miself the electronics with an egeneer and the board allow the bike tho change batterys from pannels when they are discharged; the board connect the full bat. to the motor and the pannel to bat. low. The box is equiped also with a standard charger who allow to charge fron street charging station; here in Barcelona, Spain whe have some of this station installed of differents points fo the town, work daily. I beleve the bike will ready in spring for testing. The frame is in carbon fiber and the roof in polycarbonate struct. sheet. The rear wheel is a 20´´ x 4.125 schwinn tire. I project to add a litlle over unity to give the left current to the hub but (may be some readers will laugh) i am i phase of developpment and i work in a new type of a more performant pulse motor. actually mi over prototype reach´s the 40% of effi. Well, is somwedy is interested in details i can share some info. thank guy´s . I remeber i talked with an australian guy about the project, may he still intered. Thanks for reading, and excuse mi english, i am french, cheers....Il´´ post some pics later mine are too high for the forum and i need to reduce them.

pictures please. Where did you get satellite-grade solar cells?

I'd like to know more how you "got all cells under visual control." and what are you using the 7" lcd to control?

how much did it cost?

Are you talking about EV charging stations primarily used for cars? My city has som J1772 standard charging stations which I hope to tap into if I can find a small enough high voltage PSU.

I was in Barcelona over the summer. Pretty nice place.

Sounds very interesting. I like it that you actually have enough panel to do some good. Too many "solar ebikes" with a tiny 40 watt panel, and a 500 watt motor. Works if you ride 5 miles a week. 5 miles a week, I'd just pedal.

Pics, and video too wanted when it's up and running. :D

hi, i got satellite solar cells from an e-buyer used on an satellite developed from an us. university project. These cells where used on some old satellite panels but they give a lot of volts, 3.8 v and 500 Mamp for 3.5x 6 cm. the cigs cells from Shell (gallium arsenide) works great ; like 4v and 400 Mamp. for a similar size and they are full protected with a rugged clear plastic shape. The electronic board developed by mi engeneer allows to control volts and current from solar pannel 's and all battery cells and high power using bipolar dc SSR and 2 pic's microchip and sent to the computer by usb port. The 2 main solar panels have 37 x 180 cm,and they can moved from left to right to get the maximum solar insulation. The 2 Mppt solar controllers are from Genasun. 2 small side panels allow to power the 12v needed for the computer, lihgts and lcd screen. A part of a labview program wil help me to have full control from mi touch screen to the driver board. Also i am i course of research and develop. a fresnell lens array from a german company to use them like concentrator sun power. I did some test and with single fresnell lens ( 10x15 cm) i can obtain more than 2 times current and 20% more volts under regular insulation. I stopped the solar panels construction in vue to design the brackects for the fresnell array. The possibility's to reach 400w (2 x 48 v x 4 amp.) from the panels is becoming real. A 2mm thick shape of sealgard 410 will cover all cells and protect them from the fresnell len's heat and weather dammages. I don't want to talk about money and the massive amount of hours working on it, Lot of bms and pcb burns out and mistakes while construction makes me remember how hard is to develop a prototype but i estimate the amount in 3000 € only for components and different stuff . The controller if from kelly, with regen. braking and the hub motor 500w is from golden motor. Now, with the experience, i look at cicso ultra-performant australian brushless kits and mi golden motor seems to be a poor old motor and i dream about the 12.000 ausd $ needed to buy the kit ( add 6000 ausd $ for the controller). A little 250 watts brushless on the front wheel will serve to give power when used on brake going down a hill by a swicht and a single rectifier bridge to the battery,s. Iam full busy but on next days i will post some pics because i need to modify the size of them because the forum do not accept more than 500kb. Thanks for reading, cheers

some pics b attery´s a nd other stuff are not mounted now but i can share the other components , the ``cigs´´ cells are from canadascapital ebay usa, i beleve they are the mos performant cells i´vs tested right now, and they dont need any proteccion added. The satellite cells are from ``sunpowercells´´ ebay seller usa but actually he doesn´t get any more but you ask for.26042010084.jpgView attachment 5
