I just wanted to post here to show off our new conversion of a Sun Crusher Fat tire cruiser.
We installed an E-BikeKit 350 watt geared hub motor on the front wheel. We used a rear kit in the front fork as the fork width in front is the same as most rear dropouts. We just removed the free wheel and built up the wheel.
It has a 36v 14 AH SLA pack. We ride it up to 20 miles with almost no pedaling at all with a top cruising speed of 18 mph with a 200 lb rider. We aren't exactly sure what the range is as our daily drive is 20 miles and it has plenty of
battery remaining after the trip. Here's a pic or two and you can see more of it on Facebook. facebook.com/humanelectrichybrids/ or human-electric-hybrids.com

I have just bought a Sun Cruizer 7. Please can you give me more details on the exact place to buy the correct hub and kit. What do I have to do special to install the front hub? Fat Bikes are amazing. Any details so I can do this easily would be great. I am very good with this stuff as long as I get some good instructions.

I have been reading up on installing the front hub but how do I determine the correct spoke length for the type of geared motor hub I install on the Cruiser 7 front wheel with it being a 26" x 3.5" wheel?

Looks great to me. I like it that it has both v brakes, rather than a coaster brake. You might have the range now, but it's real likely you are wearing out your batteries sooner than you would, if you ran a shorter cycle. Charge at the destination if you can, to make it ten mile rides. Perfect candidate for a 10 ah limn battery later. 20 ah would give you serious range.

I believe there is a spoke calculator on Grin Cyclery's web site.
