2023 surron light bee with x-controller. 100 miles. If I "goose " the gas it cuts out. like it's too much engine strain. At 28mph cuts out. everything stays on just the bike cuts out. key of/on again. where if the rev's low enough it cuts out. its like a certain medium range rev is all it can handle. when I lift the tire off the ground it will go almost 50. but with me on it cuts out at 27-30. but absolutely cuts out ANYTIME I twist the throttle much at all!!! I have to start sooooo slow and creep up speed. Any ideas?Checked the hall sensor but it doesn't have the same mark to line up. looks like the magnet is in the right groove. pulled all the wires out and reconnected them . pulled out controller and re-intalled. tried a battery bypass. nothing works. it started doing this when I wasn't home and my buddy tried to Hotwire it jumping with a wire. help please

Do you know what the LVC (low voltage cutoff) on the controller is set to?
If you have done a battery bypass(I assume you mean BMS bypass), the battery voltage could be sagging enough to trip the LVC.
Use a good multi-meter to see what your battery voltage is under load.

The first thing I would recommend it to try disconnecting the tilt safety switch (dump switch) connector. Some of these are overly sensitive and can false trip.

You can also use a LED connected to the battery plug to read the fault codes. Many of the Sur-rons came with the LED dongle but you can make your own with just a LED.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply. I am on my war right now ,here in utah, to test the controller. I don't have a multi-meter but my buddy does. it's not a low voltage problem where if the rev's low enough it cuts out. its like a certain medium range rev is all it can handle. when I lift the tire off the ground it will go almost 50. but with me on it cuts out at 27-30. but absolutely cuts out ANYTIME I twist the throttle much at all!!! I did disconnect the tilt-switch and t ran fine until my stupidhewad friend hot-wired it by jumping with a small wire and it started all this cut-out mess. here is my reply to another gentleman. let me know PLEASE what you think

It sounds like a controller problem. The LED blink code will tell you what it thinks is wrong.
Does it still cut out if you put it in Eco mode?
Do you have any way to measure the battery current? Either an external shunt or a clamp-on DC ammeter.

One other thing I've seen before is you might have a bad connection somewhere between the battery and the controller. Double check all the connections on the main battery wires including the circuit breaker and controller screw connections.

Eco-mode is even worse. it cuts out if I barely turn the throttle or go faster than about 8 mph. I have a voltmeter at my disposal. how would I measure the battery current? one of the first things I did was a battery bypass and that changed nothing so I wired the neg back to the batt/bypass

I have taken out all the connections and checked them all! I would feel more likely if it cuts out on a bump or something but it runs just fine(at low speed) hitting all sorts of bumps. but its like a certain strain on it is when it does cut out!!! im still open to anything you think I should try because nothing is working!!! I swear km about to just roll the bike into the ocean!!!

This is the biggest clue that you have regarding what is wrong with your bike.

What exactly did your friend do when he hot wired it?

Presumably you just unplugged the tilt switch, did your friend short out a couple of pins on the connector to the controller?

And did he also mess around with the kick stand sensor?

When it cuts out, does the display stay on?

It seems like a controller issue, but since controllers are expensive, it's good to check everything else before replacing it.
The LED blink code thing is your best bet. You can just get a LED and jam the pins into the socket on the small battery plug to read it out.

can you explain what you mean about shorting out couple pins? also it seems to be getting a little better and a little better. not muchn but now it cuts out at about 32 mph. it started out cutting at 28. acceleration still just sucks and makes it cut out almost immediatly. how/why could it be getting better? i litteraly cant afford a new controller so this situation sucks. also here is what the meter did when i tested the controller. please help with any ideas.

Mine is doing the exact same thing. cuts out if I throttle more than about 1/3. also right around 30 mph. cuts out. everything stays on (speedo/comp/lights) just cuts out. once in a while it almost runs like normal. I got up to 46mph today but quickly after just kept cutting out around 30. what would cause it to kind of get better sometimes? I have checked all the connections really well. It is NOT shorting out, like hitting a bump or whatever. It is how much load I put on it. any ideas?

Did you try unplugging the small multi-pin plug from the battery and ride it? The bike can run with this unplugged. If there's a signal from the BMS triggering something in the controller, it would go through this plug.
