Surron LBX 2025 battery with 2023 controller

I built an LBX from scratch. Sourced parts from wherever I could. I'm 13 years old and thought this would be a fun project for me. Having built the whole thing, which looks amazing, I've come across one big issue: it doesn't work! I'm using a 2023 surron controller and a 2025 surron battery. I bought some parts from Amazon, many parts used. The symptoms: when I first connect, the display turns on, the horn operates. When i engage the throttle, it sometimes engages the motor for 1-2 seconds. Then the power to the motor cuts out. The whole time, a multimeter reading across the input terminals at the controller are a constant 65.0v. The display stays on and the horn stays operational after the motor stops working. I'm not sure if this is a compatibility issue between the 2023 controller and the 2025 battery. Could be a defective harness or throttle. Or may be my controller just doesn't work properly. I don't have any friends nearby with surrons so love to hear from anyone who has any suggestions. Thank you!

There are a number of things that can cause the motor to stop:

Brake switches
Kickstand switch
Tip over switch (Dump switch)
Battery under/over voltage or other battery problem
Motor temp sensor
Throttle voltage out of range
Motor over current

There may be more...

I would first try lifting the rear wheel off the ground and see if the motor will run.
You could also try disconnecting the kick stand switch, brake switches, and dump switch. The motor can run with these disconnected. This will eliminate those as possible causes.

Some controller models can give you an error code by blinking a LED connected to the multi-pin battery connector. You need a LED. You can find more information about that here:
