In more maybe unrelated newz, US biz "CARFAX" (a leading source of vehicle history information for buyers and sellers of used cars) reports today "nearly 1 in 5 U.S. vehicles have open safety recalls".

"There are more than 47 million cars in the United States with open recalls, up 27 percent from a year ago, Carfax said."

(The highest rates of unfixed vehicles were, in order, Texas, Mississippi, Alaska, Utah and West Virginia.)

The NHTSA said 94 percent of crashes result from human error, and that it is working to address driver behavior as well as increase the rate of repair of recalled cars and trucks.

Ebikers not affected by these recalls... apparently. But may suffer the consequences.

Americans owed more than $987 billion in outstanding auto loans in the last quarter of 2015, according to the latest report from Experian Automotive. It’s the highest amount of outstanding auto loan debt since the company first started publicly reporting the data in 2006.

I actually married one. When we were dating, a bike I gave her got stolen from out front of the grocery store where she worked. She locked the lock securely to a fixed bike rack, with the cable looped over the top of the seat. I guess she never paid attention to Miss Frances in Ding Dong School. :lol:
