Not Sure anybody has posted this new video about the elf electric velomobile. Looks pretty good imo and I like the more upright position. I wish it was fully enclosed but from the looks of it that could be doable with some clear plastic for the sides or something. I am not sure about the steering mechanism.

A brave attempt. He has a lot of money tied up in the design. It's a bit wide. Eventually people will have to get used to the idea of sharing the road with such vehicles. If it could go 40 mph it wouldn't be in the way on a street.

I imagine it can do close to 40mph when you disable the speed limiter. Or you could always change the motor, controller, and battery voltage. But what I really want is something like one of these.

Thats a great find. 5 KW motor, 72 volt, and independent front suspension sounds great. I don't know about the 12" wheels though. Do you think they can survive potholes?

Well, those aren't bicycle wheels. But I'd be more interested in the 20kw model with AC. Gets hot here.

Average suburbanites around here still prefer suvs, though they seem to be shrinking somewhat, losing a few cylinders along the way. As long as faster and bigger is perceived as better, such a radical departure from what they drive now is unlikely to catch on in the carnage outside at the moment. In over 25 years of bicycle commuting, I have only encountered one typical velomobile, that being late at night a few months ago. Most of them stay on PCH for some strange reason, it has become the local proving ground for innovative green vehicles.
As for me, I would love to have one.
