If I had an extra buck for every time I didn't build to plan because it was stupid. Good ones. Can't decide which I like most, the MC Escher stairs 8) or just the lampost in the driveway. The door to ouside on the second story would be fun to lable "this way to the egress" Hey dude, just take the shortcut, its faster.

Funny looking, but actually the balconies still can be used. Those escher stairs though, you'd have to be a rockclimber to use.

Actually these are not uncommon on older houses on the Canadian east coast where they are termed "Mother-in-Law doors"...
Seriously!
One explanation "...These doors were often included to indicate to the tax collector that a balcony was yet to be added, placing the house in the unfinished category and exempting the owner from paying taxes. "

loCk

A door like that would work great in Crested Butte CO, or Mammoth CA. Save a lot of snow shoveling. If unfinished got you a tax break in this county, every single house would qualify. :)

This one would be funny if it was not so expensive.

San Diego is building a foot bridge for 12,000,000.00, wait, 26,000,000.00, wait, 28,000,000.00. It's years past when it should of have been done, just a bunch of unfinished construction. I betting they are just trying to figure out ways to hide some more increase in cost. They got all fancy and wanted a suspension foot bridge instead of a reasonably priced normally constructed foot bridge that would have probably come in for half the initial cost.

See what happens when you get to spend other peoples money with no limits.

Deron.
