voila:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BATTERY-MONITOR-DC-99V-100A-LCD-DIGITAL-PANEL-AMP-VOLT-WATT-AMPERE-HOUR-METER-/230946855027?pt=Mess_Pr%C3%BCftechnik&hash=item35c5815873#MRLOCATE

It has volts, watts, amps and watt hour.

Not cheap at all but i checked all over and these are the prices (46eur shipped vs. the old $12 shipped).

I checked the measurments and maybe it will fit the case of the good old blue 60v watt meter i have.

One thing i don't get...It has only an input for power but where is the output? I'm used to the 4 wires setup so how does this one work?

Roy.

It want's a supply no greater than 24v, but looks usable.

5 wires. Two big one's to loop the load being measured through. Perhaps the live side by the looks of it. Then three little wires. 2 are most certainly power, and the 3rd is likely reset or backlighting.

Thanks, just ordered it and also ordered a DC/DC step up converter to use a single 18650 cell to power the thing (3.7v to 12v converter)

looks good but a bit expensive
yep but it can take 100v and thats rare.

looks like an arduino with lcd so thats why it aint cheap

You double the amount and you have a CA

With mounting, weatherproof capability and a few more goodies too.

PIM Meter is another meter that bridges the gap between the CA and a watt meter and can go up to 100v and beyond i believe. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=42075

Yup, If a CA costs about $130 you would go for the new version with only $20 more costing total $150 and
with delivery you can add another $20 easy ending in $170.

So while i paid 46eur shipped for the watt meter the CA costs 136eur shipped so it's triple the cost of
a simple watt meter which i don't need more than that. I'm sure it will be cooler to have a CA but for that
price i will give that up especially when i need to get a special shunt for extra $25 because my controller
doesn't have a CA connector.

So maybe it's a bit expensive but it's still the cheapest option for me.

Edit: That PIM device looks very nice but it's $89 not including shipping so with shipping it will be about double what i paid.

I was looking at a >60V ebike wattmeter a while ago that was about £50. I think it was from an Israeli retailer on ebay, but I can't find it now and can't recall the name...

Have a look at the "battman" :

...and few other options there :

Thanks, that battman looks nice but the big screen version costs like a CA and i'm sure the CA is better so batman wins in the small version imo.

thanks to you,
I am in a same situation as you and I haven't made my mind up yet, all this Junk seems anyway well overpriced to me.
and I am afraid I will choose the ghetto style option to plug a cheap powermeter within 2/3 of my 18s pack
(at least my A, and Ah reading would be right, and voltage, Watts would be "2/3" right :p )

I have 3 zippy's in series so i can choose only 1 third reading...when i imagined how it would
be i said to myself, hmm that over priced watt meter doesn't look so expensive suddenly!
So i ordered it since thats the cheapest...it's funny that this bike cost me a kidney but i spent so much
that im now counting my dollars.
This project seemed not so costly when ordering parts in little bits but when i added everything i got to about $3000!! (downhill bike with 3k motor
and a whole lot of breaking it afterwards).
Hope that helps.

Roy.
