hi..
my current pack is http://em3ev.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=35&product_id=123
so, i have an ecospeed kit which uses a bmc motor 12570-3 , this seems to have a no load speed of about 4000 rpm at 36v, which would make it around 111 rpm/v, i also have a mac motor which has about 80 rpm/v , this make sense as i can reach around 42kph with bmc motor (at 1500 watts) , and about 37 kph with mac.
any attempt to go around 2000 watts with bmc crushes it's magnets after a month, i was thinking about switching to http://www.lightningrodev.com/parts/index.html , however it's motor has 67rpm/v would make me even slower. however it's spec seem to withstand higher amps, but in order to regain the speed i've lost i would have to re-struct a new triangle battery of http://em3ev.com/store/index.php?route=product/product&path=42&product_id=76 (it's the only reliable bms supplier i know of) so then i'll 17*3.6*67=4100.
(btw in case anyone is wondering the frame is custom made to have a VERY large triangle, in fact in the bag i'm using right now from em3v, could contain even more cells)
problem is, i don't know anything about pack building, my attempt to custom order a123 one, has failed, miserably, (so i have 16s 15.a useless traingle i keep for testing stuff)
i was thinking about using INR18650-29E http://store.enerdan.de/gb/li-ion-cells/unprotected-cells/samsung-inr18650-29e-li-ion-3-62v-4-2v-laden-2900-mah-3c.html (they seem have a service for soldering tail , although i don't know what button-top actually means), i also thought about using a hot glue gun, instead http://www.dx.com/p/abs-3-hole-18650-battery-holders-black-10-pcs-270382, to save space but i'm not sure what's exactly is the process of glueing them, and what glue (if a specific type is needed)
it also occurred to me that i could use a divide and conquir approach, creating a 1S10P packs and hooking them all up to the BMS. the wires from the bms would be connected with isolated cable footings, such as these http://thumbs1.ebaystatic.com/d/l225/m/mX9gF9M3iYBaezW5FaIS9iA.jpg
what do you think?
