There is a system that you can fly the plane with those LCD glasses as if you were on board, I forget where the link was but it made me want an rc plane.

I often daydream and think of stuff like this (I don't know why!) Have you heard of a recoil-less rifle? It was an old military anti-tank rifle with a very large shell using very conventional off-the shelf technology. Imagine a cartridge scaled up to the size of your arm, then in order to counteract the forces of firing, you double the size of the gunpowder charge and direct half of it to blast out towards the rear.

An RC-carried home-made small rocket that is spin-stabilised (with video aiming) would be easy to make (Google "fritz-x"), but that is probably stumbling over the line into a "homeland security red-flag" area...
Trivia question, does anybody know why an un-manned aircraft is called a "drone"? (don't Google it, I know you want to!)
