How to join properly the stator in the rotor 101

I opened alot of these great hub motor and found a good way ( when you dont have all specialized tools) to reinstall the stator in the magnet ring rotor without having any risk of not entering correctly and having it angled and jamed with sometimes the magnet that are damaged from this hapenning.

I used some long M5 screw ( for the X5) and plastic tube on them and some rigid plastic plate that i bended to form a cylinder and than finetuned the inner diameter of it with some shims to have the I.D. to match with the magnet rotor I.D.

The result is that once you approach the stator to the magnet ring, it will ONE time good and aligned !.. But you need to make the move fast so you need to insert the stator FAST in the rotor.

So there is no risk of having it jamed in teh wrong position and being retained by the magnets pulling on it and damaing the magnets fragile edges.

You must have the magnet ring lifted from your bench a couples of inches to allow the axel to to take place when the magnet snap!

It will make like a big loud BANG !.. and you can feel the power of these magnets!

Here is couples of pictures:

Good idea. As you get into the bigger motors, the more that magnet gets stronger than you can controll well.

One of my ways to get it done safe, is to put the rim and magnets on an old worn out tire, and stand on it. Then with the magnets under controll I can carefully lower the stator into the hub, holding it only by the axle with both hands. Works ok with smaller, weaker motors.
