Just got psychotiller's aluminum rims for 6" x 1.25" wheels. They're quite thin but should be tons of fun.

Are those pulleys from Cal robotics or whatever that site is called? Great price, are the good quality? I was going to order one and try and do a similar board based on the Atom/MBS streetboard. I really need another setup....For a second there I thought you were using the Original S10 trucks - which is another thing I'd like to try. My neighbor rides those trucks and loves them. They are like 250mm axles. You need to use the beefy bushings or they ride horrible he says.
Looks good. These are a nice cross between a full EMT and longboard. Probably what I should of made in the first place.

Yeah, got them from VexRobotics which is what psychotiller set his bolt pattern up with. It's actually a great idea considering the pulleys are pretty darn cheap compared to your regular sdp-si.com also already fitted - no additional costs.

There are also spacers that you can use + Sprockets/CHAINS!!! I could actually get a few spacers + sprockets and setup a chain setup if these 15mm's don't work. They have a wide range of teeth sizes as well. Everything is about $9-13 bucks which is the going rate for regular ones.

As for the pulley, it's great. The 17mm ones are actually 3 pieces that interlock with each other. You can take out the middle piece that's probably 4-5mm or so and downsize a 17mm to maybe 10-12mm (haven't measured) for your standard 9mm pulley.

I have an MBS board sitting but it's definitely not a street board. Pretty big to be lugging around in the city and on bart/train.

I'm using standard 180mm Paris Clone Trucks. 195 or longer would probably be better. Does look a bit weird because the board is big and the trucks/wheels are pretty small.

They seem a bit thin but they should be fine. I like how they fit 15mm pulleys width ease. Can't wait to use it but waiting on belts.

Might be the picture, but the board looks to sit significantly higher off the ground. I'm wondering if a drop down deck would be best with the added height. Gorgeous wheels! :D

Yeah, it's a bit high off the ground. I would of liked to put them through the drop through but the current trucks are setup for a top mount board. Drop through is ideal for a pneumatic board to decrease the height from the ground.

The wheels are made by psychotiller.

I've got a drop through deck, but my trucks are top mounted. Even if you top mount on a drop down deck it will still give you a lower center of gravity, I'm almost positive. Without a wider set of trucks, I'm thinking drop down is the way to go. Which sucks because Hi5ber doesn't make one. I wonder how much a custom job would be, if they would do it at all...

I used a drop through/drop down deck. It worked perfectly. No wheel bite. With this deck the overall height is only 1/4" taller than my other builds. I think the 60t pulleys you're going to use will be what bites the board if you mounted drop through. The 42t I used is pretty close.

Have you torn up any terrain yet on this thing?!

I haven't lol. I'm stubborn on wanting to use 15mm and it's a bit tight for my mounts so might just have to go 9mm. I also need to setup the board but just haven't done so. Hopefully soon :)

I do like the Hi5ber Makako 40" Deck. Might get one.

I've finally put a few miles on my new wheels. Friggen awesome! With the matco tires I'm running 58psi and the rolling resistance is excellent. This thing cruises! I cant believe how strong it pulls with this single Tacon.

Haha nice.. I've tried 15mm width belts but they seem to drag more but could also be because of my gearing. I'm using SK3 63mm with an 8mm shaft so anything smaller than a 17T for a motor pulley I need to bore to 8mm. However, haven't had the chance yet. Also the 15mm motor pulleys I think were rubbing against my wheel so I had to downsize to 9mm width. For now at least until I get my bolt on motor mounts.

I'm using a 20T/60T and it's not doing too well. I switched it to 9mm width and I think it's working a bit better until I can get a 14T or 16T on it for 14/60 or 16/60.

It's fun though when I was riding it. Pretty bouncy and definitely can go over the bumps and roads with no effort. I need to get me a set of those 2" thick wheels.

Yeah...I started with the 17t motor pulley as well and didn't like it. Now I'm using a 14t that I had to bore. Much better. You should really try the 42t versahub. I'm running 14/42 and it's strong. I guess you have all of the SF streets to contend with though. What the hell happened to all of the 8mm bore 14 and 15t pulleys?!! Cant get them in 15mm width now..

Flat ground my 20/60 on 15mm works great. Going uphill it doesn't get enough momentum to go uphill.

Are you on 15mm with your 14/42? single motor? That's 1:3 which is same as my 1:3 with 20/60 however mine would create more resistance since it's more teeth.

I have the 42T but I need a smaller motor pulley before I use either. Should be nice once I get my smaller motor pulleys.

Hey Psychotiller,

Where did you get this deck from. I'm looking at doing a all terrain board and this deck looks ideal?

Cheers,

Peter

Search for "drop down deck" on ebay and it will pull of other decks too. All of them are really cheap. My current deck has that teardrop shape, so I want to try a symmetrical one for my all terrain setup: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Longboard-Deck-Drop-Down-9-4-x-38-Black-Concave-Maple-Symmetrical-Shape-/131355878420?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e956ba414
