A very loud and sudden sound coming from the motor when under heavy load(only throttle no pedaling) under easier throttle everyhing is fine. Sounds like khrrrrr like some gears skipping like crazy.

I have two motors like this, on one of them I have changed chain, rear wheel and cassette so I think it could only be motor problem

Both motors have around 3-4k km and were driven on max amps(25 )setting with a 48v battery

Inside the motor the main gear looks fine, the smaller gear looks fine and not damaged same as the clutch, plastic gear and motor gear

Most of the bearings I also checked except for the burried bearing of the motor but if it failed it would have ripped the plastic gear(or made higher pitchrd noise?) so I dont think its that

If I am wrong please correct me but the tsdz2 has a one way bearing inside the plastic gear, well tsdz8 doesnt have that and plastic gear is directly connected to the small gear shaft so its not that either.

My main suspect is the large one way bearing that is located on the main gear but I dont really have any way of testing it, it functions normaly when I hold it in my hand and spin it and simulate load on the chainring with hands

Also there is a problem of even getting spare parts as I cant find anything selling on the internet related to the main gear and its bearings

Has anyone had a problem like this?

I could share pictures later and also can share how I disasembled the motor as you wont find any tutorial how to disasemble the main gear and check if the clutch is okay

Disclaimer. I never seen a TSDZ8, but I recently had troubles with the TSDZ2B's sprag for the pedals slipping so I've taken some time to understand my TSZZ2 and TSDZ2B better..

When looking for a new gear for my TSDZ2B, I did notice TSDZ8 gears for sale. The label says TSDZ2 in the ad copy, but this picture sure looks like a TSDZ8 gear in this aliexpress link.,
Z8 big gear.jpgI can see the big sprag clutch ring on the gear. The TSDZ8 pedals appear to drive this gear thru a pawl/ratchet instead of a sprag clutch like in the TSDZ2. They sell that too,

Could the slipping sprag make that sound? It would have to be the sprags slipping and chattering. I don't know. Have you considered spray cleaner and then re-oiling it?

On my TSDZ2B, the little sprag ring for the pedals would just not engage if I wiggled the pedals. Then it would slip but rotate silently, I re-lubed it and now it works, although I still bought a new gear,
