Hey there,
I experienced a weird crackling squeling sound today. It started under heavy load in PAS 4 on an incline. Also in PAS 5 on an incline.
When shifted down and less torque the sound didnt appear.
600km on the engine. 3rd time this happened now.
The sound appeared for 2-3seconds and immediately stopped when I stopped pedalling I believe.
It doesn't sound like something mechanical. It kinda reminds me of a modern cordless drill when on the torque limit and the controller or motor makes that weird sound.
Also the sound reminds me a bit of sparks, which would be really weird to have actual sparks or lightning flashes of current inside the motor without destroying it?
The battery is fine, em3ev 52V pack with 7 cycles and 0 errors on the bms, cells are fine too.
So far I couldn't replicate it in pas 1-3 but Im still on the old firmware with the useless pas 1-2.
I usually ride in 3 with 250-450w but need 4 or 5 for some steep inclines wich max out the motor at full power.
Im riding an Omnium Mini-Max cargo bike with rohloff hub. System weight with me included is 105kg empty and around 125kg loaded.
There is some radial and axial play in the crankshaft but nothing I wouldn't expect from a cheap product. Nothing crazy I think.
