DONT MISS IT !! Begining on 11 sept 2009

Everybody, even if it is in french, it is worth the look. The moment at the end where we see the gps, I almost cryed when they put that music of happiness  .
The best part is seeing Doctorbass riding on the streets of quebec city and the show host commenting how impressive the bike acceleration is

I don't know French, but I inferred enough to suggest that "exclusivement reservee residents du Canada" meant something like "Canadians only!". It doesn't seem like US residents can view it which is a bummer.

:D .. Ouais!! Youtube!

Merci silicium!.. Did you also ripped the other video of the speed record?

Doc

Darn... no subtitles for us dumb americans

Dieu merci, je ne suis pas un idiot american total

I'm rusty but if I can find a good web source I could rip up subtitles or a sub audio track in english (bad dubbs... LOL, from French to English... what am I getting myself into?)

Loved seeing your bikes. You have alot of holes drilled in your side covers for cooling; do the motors get that hot?

not really.. it's to keep lowest resistance of the winding to keep motor efficient alont the drag race of 20 sec.. the motor take up to 15kW so i want it as cool as i can to keep max acceleration

For drag racing, I always thought it would be a good idea to flood the motor with CO2 or liquid N2 to cool down the windings just before a run. The cold starting temp will make it take longer to heat up and keep the resistance low. Just have to be careful not to freeze the lube in the bearings. A CO2 tank like they use to refill paintball guns might do the trick.

I can just imagine this thing on the starting line with a cloud of fog rolling out of the motor.

I like that  We also talked about that in the X5 cooling subject i think.. I jst worrie about the glue on the magnet.. often they stress and broke due to cold outside temperature..so with colde temp.. we would need to be really carefull!

I would like the show off with white cloud around the ebike before to make the run!!! 8)
Just like in BTTF 1 with the Doloreen!!

Yes, the magnet glue could be a problem. If there was a way to only cool the copper in the windings it would be ideal.

Liquid cooling become again more interesting.. it's just a question of room availlable to pass the copper tubes on the axel :?

Every time someone mentions this I feel guilty about not having finished my little half-assed water cooled bike. I really need to get on that to see what I can do.

Then mebbe buy a small hydraulic press and have a stamp made so I can build a stator more conducive to liquid cooling. From what I've learned with my PC-cooling exploits, what I've done with my 406 should work pretty well, especially at higher temperatures (150°F+ in the motor), but it's FAR from from an ideal solution. Internally-finned channels right behind and through the stator teeth should provide pretty phenomenal cooling, especially if the phase coils were surrounded with a thermal compound.
