My son wants to drive on karting track with other minimotos, most of them 49cc 2kw petrol bikes. He is pretty competitive and we cannot exceed the power and speed of them. Other thing why we don't buy
petrol one, is we prefer ebikes and I see the futures is all about ebikes. We also run it on motocross track, enduro trails, snow, grass and gravel. So its pretty like all arounder to us. So our plan is improve top speed
and torque to match and OVERPOWER the petrol bikes and 50cc mx bikes. Our dirt track here is pretty good for Oset 12.5, it does not include big jumps so I think we are going with this frame now.

My plan is also to move this technic to Osets future MX 10 model, so you don't need to wonder about too much power to this frame. I tame it with voltage and amps depending where we are driving. My plans is
include brushless Kelly Controller 24-72, continuous amps 70 and 10s bursts 150A. So it too will move to MX10 later.

So the setup what we are currently considering would be:
-15s lipo with 15ah. So 55,5-63 volts.
-24-72v 70a kelly controller
-Revolt 120 pro motor http://www.revolt.org.il/rv-120/rv-120pro-2/
-1:2.35 gear ratio with some 250cc motocross sprockets and chains
-Top speed with max voltage should be 37mph (60kmh).

Would this be the ultimate lighweight setup to this bike and later on MX10. Can anyone calculate rough estimate to 0-60 kmh speed? How about max torque in NM:s with this setup, will
we reach 20nm?

Facts to help calculations:
-Tire outer diameter 12"
-Rider, gears and bike total weight 95lbs

Currently we run the stock 500w oset motor @ 1600w (40amps, 40volts) with 24-48v 100A kelly controller, we reach the top speed of 20mph. I think this is the most we succesfully get out of this motor. If I
gear it faster I think it drains too much amps and burn the motor.

Any other mid-drive motor recommendations under 10lbs under $400 to consider, or is this the ultimate kit?

This is the bike maxed out:

Actually at the same time I think we are going to made some Oset 12.5/ 16 hybrid. We are going to switch (if possible) Oset 16 front fork, front wheel, front brake disk, front tire, back wheel and back tire too. No more nasty vibrations at higher speed.

Why not build an electric minibike out of a gas pocket bike with a broken motor? That way you can keep the current Oset as is and have a "race"bike for the kart track.

Is the PW50 frame bigger than Oset 12? I think 60-65cc motocross frames are too big to my boy. What about weight of empty frame of PW50, is it how light?

In comparison seat heights:
Oset 12.5 390mm
Oset 12.5/16 frame modded: 440mm
PW50 490mm
KX 65 750mm

I think the PW50 would be bit high but it can be close what we need. Problem is that here Finland there are not many PW50s lying around and I din't find them on ebay.

I think we need more power also on mx track and I do not have money to buy/upgrade both of them. The good think would be when I upgrade Oset I can move parts to the bigger frame later, the MX10. And I can put stock Oset parts back to 12.5 and sell it away. Also the pocketbikes are so little that it would be hard to fit batteries and motor like Revolt 120 pro to them.

Isn't the power and speed you want to upgrade to (from 0,5 to 6 kW with 15kW peak  ) a little overkill on that Oset chassis? I get that you will turn down the maximum but your question what the estimated 0-60 time will be and the desire to over power the gas bikes points to gradually turning up to full power.
Something is going to break in that process and I sincerely hope it's only the bike... :?

I measured the parts of Oset 16 and they will fit the bike with slight "hammering" :D. Instead of 10cm rise on seat height, this mod just adds 5cm. So my boy can start one year earlier to use 16 inch wheels, awesome. I tried with 5cm wood piece underneath swingarm and 10cm wood piece underneath the front wheel and it's just about right height to my son. He can firmly stand with one foot in the ground and can support the weight of the bike. I tried to get my son to 16.0 and it was WAY too high for him, neither of legs can't reach ground.

I think the main things to modify oset order to drive mx with this are: front fork with rebound, rear spring with rebound and bigger wheels. Those 12 inch wheels are just too tiny and they will pick every groove on track.

So whats planned first (motor comes later):
-16.0 racing front forks, wheel, brakes
-16,0 racing back wheel, back spring with rebound
-7-10cm lengthen to swingarm

I think this will be awesome bike to use on enduro, trial and mx. I give the boy get used to the bike before I add more power. But power increase is coming too with more lipos added. :)

Keep in mind this bike has allready twice the power of Oset 16. :)
