Upgrading to LiFePO4 51.2V 10AH 60A rate from SLA--
I believe these cells are manufactured by Headway,
found at http://www.xhnykj.com/en/productsh.asp?id=187 (i.e. Zhejiang Xinghai Energy Technology Co., Ltd.)

I have just ordered a LiFePO4 51.2V 10AH 60A rate 16S battery with PCM from Batteryspace.com (AA Portable Power).
Check out these links:

Battery pack LFP-51V 10Ah includes PCM below, using cells below, $559 or $631 with tax, S&H in CA. http://tinyurl.com/yd95jm2

Single Cell: 38120P 10 AH, 50 A constant dischg/100A max LiFePO4 cylindrical cell, 5-20 each, $31.28 http://tinyurl.com/ybjropw

(Separate) PCM-LFP 51.2V 60A $166.95 http://tinyurl.com/yasz6bt

Has anyone bought/used any of these , or have any experience with them or these companies?
Can you recommend a 6-10A charger for this battery?
I am looking at several including the 600w version by ecitypower. http://xrl.in/4yss
One of the charge options is 58.4V10A, which I believe is correct for LiFePO4 (3.65V).

Thanks! Dan :D

It looks like you made good choices to me. On the bms, I just know nothing about that one, so I can't say good or bad on the bms.

The charger is a good one, I have the similar ones from ping, and I really like them. A 48v 10 ah battery should charge in about 2 hours with one (5 amp), not including balancing time. They are a bit big and heavy to carry around though. If you plan on doing some carrying of a charger, you might be able to get a smaller and cheaper one included in the batteryspace order that still puts out 3 amps. And then keep the big one at home.

I have dealt with batteryspace a few times and found them a good outfit as far as prices, and fast shipping went. Never had a defect so I don't know how that goes if it happens. But it's gotta beat dealing with shipping back to china.

Isn't the similar pack cheaper at EV components though? Or are they out of stock right now?

Headways cells are pretty good for a pack where a little extra size and weight isn't a big issue. I think you will be happy with them.

However, I would strongly recomend buying them from here:

These guys are great, and they will save you a bundle of cash!

They also have various BMS options, or even fully assembled packs available for very reasonable prices.

Wow, the prices at EV Components are much better. Where were you last week when I was placing my order! If I decide to upgrade the pack to 20AH, now I know where to go. Thanks.
