Use a Haibike charger as a universal charger

I came over a cheap Haibike charger and thought that it could be used as a universal charger for 36 volt battery pack.
The problem is that I don't understand the wiring. It's a 4 pin connector coming from the charger, red black blue and yellow.
If I measure between red and black i get 0V. Between black and yellow I get 11.8V and from black to blue I get 12V.
Is it so that this charger needs an original BMS to work?
I have an old e-bike battery where I replaced the BMS so it's just two wires to connect, common port.

Haibike uses a closed system, so their components only work with their bikes. The charger needs to communicate with the battery.

I dont understand why people don't just get an variable voltage, adjustable current limiting power supply from amazon for fifty bucks and call it a day.
someone gave me a nice 48v (what is that- 54.6V?) 5 amp unit and most of the time I use that going through a buck-boost module so I can set my final voltage a little lower and also see how many Ah the battery ended up taking.
