Hi!

I recently bought a Volta VS1 e-scooter ( https://www.volta.com.tr/en/product...8Qzt9M7F_YMGJSdKydC_dlW_EA00qkO0wwKPmBDVxqNAb ).
It has 5 12V SLA batteries connected in series, a supposedly 1,5kW rear hub motor and this type of controller:

Apparently it is sold by Chinese vendors in many different variants (multiple voltages and motor power) with multiple different stickers, but the layout and the pins of all of them seem to match. Example.
But I couldn't find anything more than simple wiring diagrams about it. It looks like it does not have the wire loop to be cut to remove the limit like many others do. None of the similar topics in this forum seem to be about this controller either.
The factory speed limit is 45km/h. The scooter won't go any faster, even down on steep slopes it will limit itself to this speed. I double checked it with a GPS tracker, 46 km/h was the absolute maximum i ever got. There should be some spare power in it because when it is climbing a slight slope upwards it can still reach the 45km/h limit.
If anyone knows this type of controller, is there a way to remove the limit, either by HW modification or hooking it up to a computer to modify parameters?

One interesting side note: the VS1 seems to come in two variants, the other one having a 25km/h speed limit. When I went into a shop for a test ride the clerk said they only have the 25km/h variant at the moment, but after I insisted to try it anyway he did something with the speed selector switch, the park switch and the throttle (the whole thing took like 2 seconds) and proclaimed that it is now the 45 km/h variant. So either the controller has some hidden magic combination to change parameters or he just tried to cover his previous lie about which variant it was.

If it is field-programmable at all (most are not) you'd probably need the software from the company that manufactured the controller itself, and whatever hardware (cable, interface, etc) to connect it to your computer. You'd have to contact them to see if it's available; I got nothing in a google search for such software based on what shows on the label of the controller in your post.

Some controllers are only factory-programmable, and are sent out with whatever firmware and settings the OEM (scooter or bike manufacturer) orders them with.

The OEM is unlikely to assist because of legal ramifications, but you can always ask them, too.

Some systems have an override for a limit that could work like you describe the dealer's actions, but it doesn't usually completely override a limit, just changes it to a different one.

Note that if you remove the speed limit, and that limit is a legal requirement in your area, it may make your scooter illegal, and some areas check for this and sieze (and destroy) noncompliant vehicles.
