Voltage Bosch tools battery 18v?? Helppp

Hi please need some help to finish my ebike !!

I juste bought bosch liion 18v 5ah battery. But my voltmeter read 36v between plots + an -. How do i get 18v with that ?? And seems there s no gnd plot.

Please juste need to fix that before first run !!

Sounds like a voltmeter problem. A photo of the meter and battery showing the display and settings would help us. Other than that, check the meter on a known DC voltage source like a good recently used 12V car battery. If it is a digital multimeter, make sure it has a good battery inside and you have the proper range/function selection. Also check the meter probes/wires.
