The man say: Conventional wisdom says that Li-Ion batteries are dangerous. The media and competing battery manufacturers are using scare tactics to increase ratings and syphon buisness. We're tired of them disseminating erroneous information. The newest evolution of Li-Ion batteries are not just safe, they're actually pretty boring

What do you think?

I've shot holes in some old laptop lion cells before to try to make something happen. But nothing did. Never tried good cells though. Interesting vid this dude made!

there are many other things that could happen :

Any power storage container is potentially dangerous i'm sure.
There was a few batteries that shorted out because of a manufacturing defect years ago, (some paper insulating barrier), and Li-Ion batteries got a bad rap. It's fixed now, they're relitively safe, lets move on. I wish they would lower the price though.

Yep... boring.

Still, this is only one example of what " can " happen... there are many other things that could happen
He says they're "HL-18650P. The UL file number is MH19781."

Yah I dare them to poke some holes in a gasoline container and see how much energy comes out of that. Gasoline is very, very dangerous.

Hi V, not sure if it's because your in LA, but when you say "shot" I have to wonder if that's what you ment?

Shot with a bb gun to try see if they would flare up or smoke or something. They were cycled out, not sure if thats why nothing happened.

You need a .44 magnum.

If you have a 44 magnum in your house then lithium fires are the least of your fears!
