Hi all,

I don't know if you guys are aware there is a very special race here you may be or may not be interested in down in aussie land called the World Future Cycle Challenge.

Teams build various forms of electric bikes recharged by solar panels and assisted by human power, really the other way around as they have to use legal 200w max limit vehicles and meet other regulations to compete.

These things are far more practical then a pure solar car atm as they can get around quite well under human power alone, they are far colser to being available to the public through commercial operations like the aerorider, go-one, Waw etc just need to add solar or a solar trailer.

The race started in a place called Ceduna and they end up in Adelaide Sunday the 4th, some more info is available on the BikeSA website:

One of the teams daily blogs can be found here:

So, when are you entering?

Surprising how little information there is about this. I was searching around and there's not much.

The coolness factor is off the charts though. Must have...

Sounds interesting....

I'll be looking forward to reading some of the technical details on the machines if anyone makes it available.
