Looking to buy a couple of ZIPPY Compact 3300mAh 10S 35C Lipo Packs 36V from Hobbying to put in my EVG eBike Battery case (wire in parallel to controller).

I am a newbie on LI batteries.

Will this pack have a BMS (I assume it needs one)?
I have NO IDEA what kind of Charger/Balancer/ect to get.
Should I buy one that will handle a future 48V battery?

Any advise ? Thx in advance..

I've got an ICharger 206B. Lot's of people said they balance accurately. I've had no problems with mine after about a year of use. I'm also using lipo batteries on my bike and I don't use a bms. I just balance charge the batteries every time I charge and plug them into each other then directly to the controller. No problems after 1 year of use. You might want to grab some extra wire and connectors if you don't already have them too.

No bms on Hk lipo. You are the bms. That's why I spoke about lvc's, and whether your wife would ride far enough for it to matter on the other thread. 6 ah won't take her very far. Is that as much as you can fit?

Don't get the 10s packs. Get the 5s packs. That way you can use a cheaper 6s charger. You paralell the packs to charge them all on the 5s setting all at once.

The icharger is available in a form that can balance charge 10s lipo, the model is the 3010b, i have the 306b for my 6s packs and love it, there are probably others but i only have experience of the ichargers which are very versatile chargers which can charge any chemistry and are able to discharge packs too and produce charge/discharge graphs.
You will also need a power supply to provide a power input for the charger.

Simon.

I use a 206B Icharger on my 12s72p battery and it works great, not a problem in nearly a year so far.

Thanks everyone - now I have a few less mysteries in my life. Battery charging expert here I come!
