my last bike that i sold had a range of just over 15 miles with lead acid batteries. what i want to know is how far other people can get on there bikes what motors there running what batteries and cost of there setup feel free to comment in with your specs on your setup.

This is a highly subjective question. So far the most I have done in one day was 112 miles on 880 watt hours. This took me over 8 hrs to do.
The very same battery on the very same motor takes me on little 15 mile joyrides before running out of power.
Em3ev MXUS and Turnigy lipo.

My buddy straps on a rather hilarious looking lyrca suit and cranks out 100 miles under the power of just his own legs.

My two cents is to go with hobby lipo because if you want to go long distance the lighter weight means less wh/mi consumption.

I got 32 miles on my bike with a 48v 13ah battery. Average speed 14mph

When new I went 15 miles WOT with no pedaling at 20+ mph. :D Now after almost 3 years and over 3500 miles I go 10 miles at 10 mph pedaling all the way. Without power I go 5 miles at <5 mph then my legs go completely numb and I can't stand or walk for 20 minutes.

I recently took my Cromotor/kmx/adaptto/24s 20ah A123 setup for a 94 mile trip, pedaling most of the way and using power for assist and the numerous hills... that's as far as I've been. Usually I ride hard enough that my range is closer to 40-50 miles.

Last summer, when riding as a part of the touring cyclist group, i made 156 kilometres with 20Ah 12S-pack. That"s 95 miles or something.
Big group cuts the drag down, because you are not on the lead, but way behind there, and there was practically no wind. On totally flat sections i rode mile-long distances often without throttle at all at around 20 mph. Behind the group, without wind, you can occasionally do that even with DD while keeping up with the group.
My ass my totally done after 156km, on the last miles i stood on the pedals on downhills. My legs could have done 200 kilometres propably.

My personal best on a typical 700-800 wh battery was 39 miles. That was a 36v 20 ah, pedaling all the way, at 14 mph.

On that battery, or same wh size 48v 15 ah battery, I have often made 30 miles, by riding 18-20 mph. Again pedaling, but never pedaling real hard.

More typical, was traveling 25 mph, where that size would take me 22 miles, including some moderate hills.

Load up more, and you can go farther. The farthest one day ride I ever did was about 70 miles, carrying both of those ping lifepo4 batteries. 30 pounds of battery.

I think that size ( 15 ah) pingbattery is now about $650 including shipping.

18 miles with some of my 5Ah still left. Just cruising by the river around 10mph. I didn't help much, I had not cycled in 20 years. My best effort was walking upstairs without a break. Really.. didn't help much at all.
