Dang these puppies are getting expensive, like $115 for one plus shipping, minimum. So I scroll a bit looking for a deal on 2-packs and see this for $61.00 and like 5 days left on the bidding. Then I see it is for THE CASES ONLY with a BMS!!

Last year I got several Dewalts for less than 100 dollars with shipping included.

 61$ for the case and BMS.. well that mean i could make around 670$ with my "garbadge" !!! :!:

Unfortunately, yes.

Anyone else down for a semi-hostile take over of A123 Systems? I call dibs on the patents 8).

Yes, I reluctantly just bought one, sorely needed to balance a 66v set. Paid $129 plus $15 shipping on buy it now. I saw people bidding on auctions into the mid $130s, with equivalent shipping costs. I used to get these for under $90 a few months ago. Could we be doing too good a job of popularizing them? I'd have thought the price would be dropping about now. Must be all the gold they put in them.

yeah when i bought my pack it was the 2 pack and charger combo for about 200. then another 2 pack for about 200 including shipping. Jeeze and here i am thinking of getting 2 more for my 2p3s pack.

I would not be surprised to find out the RC crowd is a significant part of the ebay demand. I went to a hobby shop that is very popular with RC Flyers on Saturday to pick up some noodle wire. As he was cutting it off a spool, I saw sitting on the counter, an A123 pask of 3 cells shrinked together with a plug on it for 76 dollars, marked down from $89 LOL. *coughs* Even at 150 a pop for a Dewalt, you could make your own at a tremendous savings and still have a spare cell left over. With RC there are a lot of combinations you can make out of 10 cell packs for RC use.

Yeah maybe a beating for these people is in order. lol. Threats like stop jacking up the price by making toys and let us build proper transportation.

I reckon they're hiking the price to finance their dumb law-suit with Phostech and we're the ones who'll pay for it.

I'm with you link, propertah is theft!! Heck you nicked your whole country off of our glorious monarch!!

Edit: Well half of it anyways.

Well, as one of the first in the RC crowd to start ripping open DeWalt packs, I can tell you that a123Racing charges outrageous prices for 2 and 3-cell packs. They cater to the car/buggy side of the RC market. On the airplane and helicopter side, we mostly used 8-10 cell packs. Later we went to 12-15 cell packs, for some of the larger helis. Most of us started with Milwaukee v28 packs, so it was a natural progression to move over to the Dewalt packs.

I think the current prices are simply be driven by supply and demand. I've seen these sort of fluctuations in the prices before. The

i sent CV.BETAH an e-mail
this is the response:

Holy crap! That's a steal. I wonder if this is legit? The old saw if it seems to good to be true...

If it was, someone could make a killing on ebay right now. A 900 dollar investment would net you 2100 profit, if you got 100 for each pack.

There has to be a catch. One thing I don't like is the payment terms. I'm not sure how safe it is to pay with those two choices, if for instance you did not get your shipment or damaged, bad packs etc.

Q: What's the shipping cost of a 1.135kg battery x 30 = ~35kgs with Fedex to Italy in 3-4 days?

A: Sento l'odore di un ratto grande.

If it sounds to good to be true..............

Apparently cheap deWalts are prime scam bait in Indonesia.

Ratas grandes.

western union/wire transfer holds no guarantee's for the buyer at all. Once the money is transfered its gone. There's also a lot of scams coming out of indonesia. I remember when ever I tried to sell high value items on ebay, such as phones and what not. I'd get lots of silly emails from there.

i would a thought also that the falling value of the dollar and the pound and chinese inflation should push up prices to the US/UK of all chinese made products.

"i would a thought also that the falling value of the dollar and the pound and chinese inflation should push up prices to the US/UK of all chinese made products."

I think the Chinese peg their currency's value to the dollar so they can maintain market share at the expense of revenue value. If they let their currency float, US manufacturing might actually become competitive against them, and they want to avoid that. They can also use all those dollars they're sitting on as a kind of financial weapon.

It probably isn't, and I'm not going to wast.. invest $920 to find out..but then again,
ebay dewalt sellers must get them somewhere, some months ago you could find them
for $70-80, to make a profit on that price, you must buy them for max $50 each, at that price they
can only come from the far East.

maybe it would be good for a group buy ...6 guys at 5 packs each and he did say including shipping to italia so that s 30 dollars then itron would ship to us like they did for the artesyn converter
