What's your favorite ebike accessory?

Without any doubt - Mirrors! Preferably 2qty Mirrycle bar end mount mirrors. I'm shocked when I see a bicycle, electric or not, without mirrors.

Street motorcycle background training has instilled a "need to know" what is around my space in traffic at all times. Dunno how some ride without a care in the world about what's coming up from behind??? Hell, merely checking every few seconds gives you that edge if/when avoiding debris in your path....

I have to admit that I don't care much about seeing behind unless I'm gonna turn, for when something is coming from behind it has to be making hell of a noise to follow me.

I have to second Ykick's endorsement of the Mirrycle bar end mount mirror. The material they made it from is really tough and you can snug the screws down and they won't come loose. So the mirror doesn't "flop down" at the worst possible times. It's a great product and it works well.

Also, the CA. You can't ride an ebike intelligently without a CA.

After that, I'd have to say fenders, rear rack and good, high-powered LED lighting. I was amazed at how motorist behavior changed when I got my 800 lumen 12 watt LED flamethrower.

True, the faster you go the less it matters. Things is, somebody's always gonna be faster than me so I prefer to know if I can weave to avoid something in my path and/or those moments when Oscar Grope doesn't calculate stopping distance correctly.

It's always been drilled into my m/c training to watch yer ass because nobody else is gonna do it for you!

Since the speed of eBikes can surprise other drivers you share the road with, I found myself using the grip mounted rear view mirrors all the time on the ebikes I have had a chance to test ride here on Maui (not exactly city conditions).

I agree totally that the mirror is a favorite. In winter the led headlight is sweet. Downtown I like my two New York locks.

The CA was a favorite on my first bike but I'm happy to be without it now. I'm also happy to do without derailleurs, shifters and kick stands.

Yep, I can imagine the satisfaction to be independent of the system. Yet I find some fair satisfaction to be charging in 10 minutes for 3 cents and a half. Everywhere is a paradise for something, here is the paradise of cheap omnipresent electricity :wink:

What "man" ?

The one that wants you paying him regularly, whether it's taxes, or utilities, or fossil fuels, they're all the same and want to skim a significant portion of your income right off the top. Another name I call him is Big, which is big government and big business. Once things get too big they are always bad.

Headlamps that are extremely powerful like this 5000 Lumen in snazzy red color. When it is not throwing a light beam that would blind even the insects, it puts off enough heat to act as a hand warmer as well; dual purpose fun!

Key feature is power and rechargeable, dedicated battery. I do not agree with using converters and extra wires to power these with the bikes main battery. This way you have no extras to install and you can easily remove both light and dedicated battery when you don't need them or when you want to keep them safe. Why draw any power from your main battery for anything other than moving the bike?

I'd have to say my favorite is the rear view mirror, followed by the CA. I can't imagine riding without either of them.

I have a dual kick stand, LED headlight and panier racks, all of which are very handy.

Batteries are really a problem to fit in, I had not thought about it before.

So it took me longer than I thought to get around to this, but it turns out the answer is "Yes, a 48V 10AH Ping fits into the Ibera large size bag."

It takes a little wiggling, but it gets in there. It probably wouldn't be great for taking it in and out everyday for charging, because it needs to be maneuvered juuuuust right to get the zipper to close, but it will eventually close. It's probably better for leaving it in there with the charging connector passing through into the side pocket, that way you can open the side pocket to access the charging connector. I've got one of those 3 led lights, and a single led one I'd bought earlier. It's nice and bright but the beam isn't as well defined as the single led one probably because of the smaller/less deep reflectors. So, strangely I think I prefer the less bright single led one most of the time which also has a lower power option for in town where streetlighting is good. On dark roads they are great together.

The same seller that markets the 3000Lum on ebay sells the 5000Lum on Alii Express and he throws in a surprisingly good quality clip-on tail lamp with an internal battery that has 6 flashing modes. I mount the HL on a handle bar extension so it is exactly centered on my bars and the light beam is in the middle of your field of vision. I put the battery pack and the extra long wires into a small frame pack strapped to the base of the stem riser, very clean and no need for extra exposed wires to allow for the bar travel during turns. Came with a nice head strap so you can use the light for night hikes/fishing and the battery pack has built in straps to mount it to your belt. Again, dual purpose fun!

Hilarious! And believe it or not the seller changed the name and mine arrived with the word "SureFire" printed on the bezel's edge! I have done about 48 charge cycles and no fire yet! Also surprised how long the light runs on one charge...used it for a night hike several weeks ago that lasted eight hours.

I got one of those lenses and it was better at cutting off the throw of the light. At the time I only had that one headlight so took it off because the loss of distance wasn't helpful for non built up areas. It's probably worth another try now I have 2 lights.
