Planning to build my 2nd. bike this winter and I wonder if somebody can help me with a "cheapish" 1000W ++ (would like to go up to 1500-2000W) kit ?
My first build was a hybrid with a 350W motor that I now run on 36V lipo insted of 24V, very happy with this bike and use it almost every day.

Bought that kit from BMSbattery and now I thinking about the Q11 kit they have. These prices seems good to me.

Or this one:

My plans for this bike is an offroader for fun with lots of power, rear wheel drive and I would like a strong motor that does not bog down so easy when I hit hill.
There are so many kits from ebay etc,but which one would you buy from and why ?
I live in Norway so shipping is quite expensive from both US and China.

Thanks

****Do this before your first post or now (it's retroactive)*****
Please go to the User Control Panel, select Profile, and then enter your city, state/province, and country into the Location field (country minimum) and save it. This will help people help you. Example: Wylie, TX, USA. Without knowing what country you are in it's hard to make any recommendations and you will waste your time and others. Thank you.

If you think those prices look good, wait til you see shipping cost.

I don't think yescomusa ships outside the US, but you can probably find the same kit on ebay from a European seller.

Or one of cellman's D.D. kit's at em3ev. it's C.A. readily chose your speed and controller ect.

The controller from cellman, can you program it to a specific A limit? Can you please explain the difference between the 6, 9 and 12 fet ? I guess the difference is how many amps you can draw ?
Also is the motor from cellman of better quality more or more efficient than BMS motors ?

Thanks.

Chances are, just getting something from china will be the cheapest, and EM3ev is one of our favorite vendors. But do check ebay, for bargains. Check our for sale used, for real bargains that might be in Europe.

The dd kits he sells are fairly robust, just like the similar yes ones are. With EM3ev though, you get a newer design, disc brake ready, and a wheel with less dish to center it.

What can you do with em? They can be run at 3000w for short runs. VERY FUN, But 1500w max tends to result in no worries about melting a motor overvolting it. Volts x amps = watts input.

Which motor to choose depends on your application. Fast winding for 40 mph fun on the street, or slow for trail riding or cargo hauling. Once you choose a motor speed, choose a voltage to get the speed you like, then choose an amperage for the controller that keeps that under 3000w, and preferably under 2000w.

If you go with a yescomm style kit, take it to a local bike shop and see if they'll rebuild it with a better rim. I had an 800W one and I was constantly breaking spokes on it and that was just street riding. I can't imagine what aggressive off road use would have done to it.

With the C.A. it is easy the set the amp draw. Plus you want a C.A. and cellman is plug and play with a better rim as spokes and cheap rims just suck.

Thanks for the help so far dogman, lbz5mc12, 999zip999 and wesnewell

Sorry for all my dumb questions but can you please explain what C.A is ?
Also can the kit from cellman manage 14S lipo or 12S.

What is your budget? How many Krone can you spend on this project?

Lol e-beach, I am impressed by your norwegian skills :D
I guess I want what everybody else wants... as much bang for the buck as possible. I do not have a fixed budget so to speak.
But I do know I want at least 1500W, I think that should be good for a fun bike.

Hard to beat the prices from BMSBATTERY, 275 for the kit incl.130 for transport.
Thing is I am not sure if it possible to push this to 1500W at least not the controller.

MAC 500/1000W PICK'N'MIX KIT from EM3ev coasts 387 + transport.
So the price is higher but maybe worth it if rim and controller is better.
