Hello,

This is only my second post. I've read a couple threads on ES on various battery packs and cells and I narrowed down to a couple options.

I would like some advice or feedback you could give on the next few cells. They may not be the best, but they are the ones that ship to France. I would very much like to get some A123 cells, but I have to choose from these:
1. 18650: Microvast mv18650fpca http://www.ebay.com/itm/LiFePO4-18650-battery-3-2V-30A-1100mAh-Power-Battery-Cell-LiFe-w-tabs-3-2-Volt-/320948578691?pt=US_Rechargeable_Batteries&hash=item4aba06a983
2. 18650: Phet pat.C http://www.ebay.com/itm/PHET-PAT-C-LiFePO4-18650-3-7V-Rechargeable-Battery-/130773264801?pt=US_Rechargeable_Batteries&hash=item1e72b1a9a1
3. 26650: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1pc-3-2V-LiFePO4-Li-ion-LFP26650-energy-type-3200mAh-flat-cap-battery-cell-/271225694535?pt=US_Rechargeable_Batteries&hash=item3f264fa947

For the first two I even found data-sheets. The Microvast cell has soldered contacts, so it would be easier to integrate it in a pack. The third one seems to be more no-name, has high energy, but lower C-rating for discharge. The pack may see bursts of 3C load, but in general it should work at 0.3-0.7C.

The battery pack will be part of a very light-assisted ebike project. Do you have any info or opinions on these cells, or are there others that (even if more expensive) would be worth considering?

Thanks for reading,

D.

Well, I'd take a zero off that amps specification of the microvast cell before I'd believe it.

3 amps plausible. About 3c more or less. 30 amps from a slightly bigger than 1 ah cell. I doubt it. I never heard of any of the vendors. There are so many now. The third vendor has a real cheap shipping cost. Imagine that rate times 50 cells or more.

I'd say just go buy from a trusted vendor we know. Pingbattery.com EM3ev.com to name a few.

Yeah, I wouldn't bother with the 30C rating either. In any case I need my pack to last at least 2 hours, 4-5 would be even better, so it's more likely the average discharge rate to be far below 1C.

I've searched both pingbattery and em3ev 's sites and I have found some pretty good packs. I even found A123 26650 cells on ebay for 8-10$/cell, seems more expensive than buying the pack from ping.
