hi,
I want to charge my lipo pack 14s 2p 10A 20c lipo pack 4 parallel 6s 5A or 2parallel 10A with parallel charging board from HK (other 2s I will charge separately with accucell6)
I ordered Turnigy Reaktor 300W 20A 6S Balance Charger from HK
Specs:
Input voltage: 11~28V DC
Charge current: 0.1~20A
Discharge current: 0.1~20A
Maximum charge capacity: 300W
Maximum discharge capacity: 300W
Current drain for balancing Li-po: 350mAh/cell
Lithium (Li-poly/LiIo/LiFe) battery cell count: 1~6 series
NiCd/NiMH battery cell count: 1~17 series
Pb battery voltage: 2~24V
Battery setup memories: 10
Intelligent temperature control: Yes
Weight: 350g
Dimensions: 140x95x27mm

I want to buy a meanwell power supply for charger but which one I have to choose:
1. mean well nes 350w 12v 29A
2. mea nwell nes 350w 15v 23.2A
3. mean well nes 350w 24v 14.6A
or do I go with mean well Nes 150w or 200w models. any suggestions please.

Since your charger will run on anything from 11v to 28v, any of those three will work.

I would think though, that the 24v 350w PS would work better. The charger will like 24v I think. It's possible that if you only give it 12v, you might only get 150w. I don't know.

So my choice would be the 24v meanwell. You do need 350w, because your charger is 300w. Run it on a 150w power supply, and you will have to turn down the amps to 150w.

You might wanna look into SE series MW?

Here's a USA retailer who offers a modded version which would be a nice match for your charger:

i used a Bestechpower D126 14S lipo BMS and 48V lifepo4 charger. the charger is one of the old headway plastic chargers, 58.8V exactly and 3A. super quiet fan. total cost less than $50.

somewhere in the forum about meanwell power supply,I have seen a post says :
Pay attention that this power supply will ALWAYS try to push the output to the max up to 1650W on any voltage until it taper to the adjusted desired voltage.
350w ps does not push too much for a 300w charger right? it is suitable for my charger. do I need any modification?

you are right actually but I wanted to start up like this first, anyway I always need balance charger and I did not decide yet. I stay with 14s or more battery in the future. When I am sure, may be I will switch to bms + charger setup later.

I think a charger will only pull what you set it for. So your max will be 300w. The charger is sort of a throttle on the load, depending on the amps you set the charger for. The max would only happen when the battery is empty.

But if you put a PS directly to the empty battery, then yeah, it might run at whatever the ps can put out. And it might overheat running like that.

I wanted to buy a meanwell 24v nes350 but supplier said I need to wait for 15 day or more to receive it. than finally I purchased A.M.T. brand (exactly same looking, clone meanwell)12v 20A switching led power supply for 20usd and I adjusted voltage to 13.5v with a screwdriver.
so far so good. I made 5-6 charges and everything seems ok. normally they use this for led strips. I fully charge my 14s 10Ah lipo pack in 2.5- 3 hours, pretty good. I charge with parallel charging board 2x6s 5ah at 10amps in 70 minutes and 4x3s 5ah at 20amps 70 minutes and 2x2s 5ah at 10amps 30 minutes approximately.
I have an extra 2s 5ah lipo to change with a bad cell just in case . with that, I made a lipo booster( I have read it at a post by Dogman:)) series wiring to my existing 36v 10ah headway lifepo4 battery and I am monitoring with a low voltage alarm and of course charging with balance charger separately. now my slow 36v battery is at a reasonable speed for 5ah and then I disconnect it. Is it damage my headways or is it ok if I monitor it carefully?
