by my math these can hold a cog or pulley for a lot of mid-drives. why dont people use them? (maybe people dont make mid-drives anymore.) better concentricity. so much simpler to assemble.

funny to me i call Climax and ask for the shortest time till delivery they offer..
but seriously i call Climax and they tell me they cant speak to me anymore because of liability constraints and I'd told him it would be on a moving vehicle, so i tell him i'm also making a conveyor belt but when he hears 7000rpm he says he cant speak to me anymore for liability reasons, so i tell him i can lower it to 4000, he doesn't believe me and keeps repeating he cant talk to me anymore and good day and gone.

so I call Fenner Drives about their's above and ask what are its limitations and he says 70,000rpm and no aerospace

They cost loads more and take up unfeasible amounts of room on the shaft. I’ve used Trantorque couplings in film and video equipment applications, but I’ve never known a cycle application that could benefit from them.

You can cover all along "L1" as long as "b" is accessible to tighten and at minimum all of "L" must be covered, so with a 12mm shaft that leaves a MAXIMUM of 13mm of possible exposed bushing and shaft within it that have to stick out and a minimum of maybe 4mm. It depends on what youre putting on it and in my use with a 12mm wide belt pulley with two flanges bringing the pulley to 16mm wide there will be 1cm of exposed bushing and shaft within it necessary. It will stick out 1cm beyond the pulley with 6mm of room for adjustment to make sure it's in-line with the other pulley.

$52 bucks for a device that gives great concentricity and super easy assembly and disassembly. I'm happy to spend the bucks for the saved time and better performance. If the shaft is spinning at high speed especially the concentricity may be the savior of the motor's bearings or more. Maybe you could even feel the reduced vibrations and that possibility alone is worth the price for me.
