Hello world, I wish I wouldnt be able to write this from my own experience, but I want you to know what can happen, when you don´t wear your gear, not even just by riding your motorcycle at high speed, also when riding your bycicle or like me a 25kmh pedelec.

In November 2015, I had an accident while riding my 25 E-Bike. It was weat on the street and I drove like a retard. Well, I wanted to arrive in time at my piano lesson and didn´t wanted to be late. After driving some minutes like a really idiot, unconcentrated, just like stupid, I finally crashed. Because of the wet street while doing some of my "quick turns", my front wheel broke out and I slided like 2-5 meters, dont remember the exact distance anymore, sidewards on the street. Just like everyone I throw my hands forward to catch myself up on the hands. No good idea. I had some gloves on my backpack of my bicycle and wanted to put them on after this turn. And this was my mistake. So I slided on the side this distance and finally stopped. All I was thinking about was "holy frock, what did just happened?" A woman cried when she saw me laying on the ground and some people went to me and asked me if Im ok. Some also just went by... I stood up and the woman told me that Im bleeding on my right hand and if Im ok. I didnt answered because I feeled so like too lazy to answer. Well I wasnt actually, it was more the shock I think. So I looked at my finger and was angry about myself for driving so stupid. Some türky people from an eating shop just on the right side of my crash brought me into their türky-dinner house and allowed me to wash my bloody finger in their toilett. Many people were already looking at me. With time it started to hurt more and more. When someone asked if I need an ambulance, I first dissagreed I think but then I agreed. After 5 minutes I think or less the police came to look for me and how the crash happened. After 10 minutes more (I was enoyed because they took so long even the hospital is just 5-8 minutes away from me) finally the ambulance arrived. They were really nice and asked how I am. Also they gave me some stuff angainst my hurts. The police phoned my parents and told them the story. So far so good. I got brought to the near by hospital and operated my finger. The doc said I will get 3 injurys. Well it was 4, not 3... `-.-

Now it is 6 months later and I always hoped that it will become better by itself. Under my fingernail got built some "wild flesh", which has pushed my fingernail upwards. But the long waiting was making it even wors. Yesterday, it was the 20th of April, I finally got operated because my fingernail hurted a bit. I called them a day before and after telling them it started to hurt, they were really quick in doing an operation. Now I know why.... after the operation was over, which was about 10 minutes of hearing and feeling some weird things in and around finger going on. After that the doctor wanted to make a bone-photo to see if everything is fine with the bone. I made the photo and came back to the operation room. I thought everything will be fine but it isn´t so.

Because of this long waiting to get it operated, because of waiting and hoping that my body will fix it by itself, it was possible for some bacterias to eat a 1/3 of my front-bone, the bone where the fingernail is on. Now we get to the nasty part: I have one week to wait.
-When my finger still hurts, they will have to cut 1/3 of this bone, to get the bacterias away. If I don´t let it operate then, it will get bader and bader.
-If it doesn´t, then everything is fine.

So short, so extreme. I asked them what I could do. They said: nothing. I said: to pray.

So guys, wish me luck.. no please dont wish me luck, better include me into your evening-pray that my finger won´t hurt in a week.

THE MESSAGE:

This wouldn´t have happened if I would have weared my gloves earlyer!

So my plessure on you: Wear your frocking gear! Dont let yourself get messes up because you are in a hurry! Take your time and drive always with your eyes and ears (no headphones while driving!) awake!

Some more pictures will follow:

What do you mean with "dancing" :)

This crash would have happened with or without gloves, because it happened as a consequence of your riding behaviour. Don't believe that safety equipment can be a compensation for stupid riding. I've had my share of bruises and broken bones in my youth, to know that safety gear is not enough to save a fool.

That said, I agree that gloves and boots and glasses are a must to every rider at each ride.

With my gloves I wouldn´t have go pushed my fingernail upwards. That´s a fact. But yes it can´t save you always. But in this case it would have saved my fingernail.

Good on you to admit the fault was within your lack of gear and poor riding choices. When you admit the fault, you can fix the underlying issue. I'm sure you've learned a good lesson and I hope it doesn't cost you a finger tip. I won't pray for ya because "god" wouldn't work that way...

Well the sad thing is, that Im playing and componising piano music since 10 years... And for playing piano 100% I sould have 10 normal, working fingers........ :| :(
Also I want to be able to keep uploading my musicvideos on youtube... And with this shit its not really nice for me.. :(

DasDouble, sorry to hear about your woes. I hope that your finger gets better. You will probably find that there are a lot of us on here that ride hard sometimes and have taken some pretty bad lumps whether on ebikes or other machines/sports. I truly empathize and hope that it does not affect your piano playing. I have to say you have provided some mild entertainment in the translation of your story to english:

...brought me into their türky-dinner house and allowed me to wash my bloody finger in their toilett.

Did you really wash your finger in a turkish sandwich shop toilet? I figure you mean toilet like in the British sense where they are referring to the washroom and not the device, but to the unworldly American this could read quite humorously!

Take the antibiotics I am sure they gave you religiously, get some good nights of sleep, eat healthy, stay hydrated, and keep your spirits up and a smile on your face. That is the best thing you can do to help your finger bone win the battle right now. Also, try not to use it too much since it is likely quite inflamed right now!!!

Good advise! Also use your other hand to wipe your butt after you poop.
