Would a spring fork help?

I had been thinking about these (I remember them on old schwinns) Do you folks think this would this help in a front-drive bike? I'd hope it would buffer the torque shock that reportedly bends the fork.

I think it depends on the front fork wheel being "free" to allow the bend, but in the case of a hub motor you want it as tight to the fork as you can (no play or it will spin around and destroy the wires or worse).

What usually bends is the tip of the fork, not the fork itself. In the case of anything that is not steel it usually breaks off, steel will bend until it fails.

I'm not sure if it will have any effect or not, only one picture to look at :(
