Hi everyone,
I'm new to all this, have been reading up on here for quite a long time....... I'd like to convert my 2007 road registered wr450f.
I'd also like to ride the bike while doing it
So I think best plan is to buy another frame and build the motor and battery onto it.
Question is, I have a steel spine type frame on my bike, I've seen a alloy yzf frame the right year advertised, i like the idea of the battery sitting in the frame as the frame rails will give some protection. This vintage of yzf/wr has a oil tank in the frame that narrows the rails a fair bit further from the headstock than a CRF or later yams, anyone done one of these?

It looks to me like where the rails meet will rob the option of bringing battery up between and under the tank, in which case I'd be better splitting the battery, using a steel frame and trying hard not to fall off
