Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. will participate in the 44th Tokyo Motor Show 2015 to be held at the Tokyo Big Sight from October 29 to November 8. The theme of the Yamaha Motor booth will be the "Yamaha Motor Product Orchestra."

The PES2 on-road sport model has an additional electric motor built into the hub of the front wheel to make it a 2WD motorcycle, and it is designed to pioneer new boundaries of performance never experienced before. In contrast, the PED2 is a partner for hitting mountain trails designed to capitalize on the clean, quiet performance character of an EV to better enjoy riding through the natural world. Both models are equivalent in performance to Class II (50-125cc) mopeds and motorcycles.

YPJ-MTB CONCEPT

This electrically power-assisted mountain bike mounts an electric motor on a high-performance bicycle and is designed for adults who want to enjoy the freedom of being able to ride on virtually any terrain. It lets you feel the presence of the power unit where it is most appreciated, like in starts, acceleration and hill-climbing, but with a design that minimizes the visual presence of that same power unit. For added assurance in riding longer distances on any type of terrain, the model is fitted with a large-capacity 400 Wh battery and a multi-function instrument panel.

I think the Yamaha PES2 (the sport bike, first pic) looks great. I almost feels bad, how good it looks. And at 130kg, it's lightweight too... Great bike.

Did anyone find more numbers on it, like battery energy, and motor power?

Are they going to have actual functioning bikes at the show?

Remains to be seen. (Quoting my uncle the undertaker.)

Show still seeming rather "car-centric"... w/some motorbikes thrown in there.
A newly developed "Active Lean"technology automatically controls a vehicle by having left and right front wheels move up and down, allowing stable driving by leaning like a motorcycle. And yet, because a vehicle touches the ground with three wheels, it is more stable and easier to control than a motorcycle. Another benefit is having a roof preventing a driver from getting wet from rain.
While still remaining the pleasure of racing through a city with an EV's unique feature of having effective performance starting from a low-speed range and the lightness of driving while feeling the fresh outside air without a helmet, a vehicle travels for about 50 km on one charge when travelling at the speed of 30 km/h, ensuring a sufficient cruising range for short-distance transportation in a city. Needless to say, there is no CO2 emission from the tail end.

Guessing focus will be lots of "short-range transportation in the city".
