Any fellow Canadians out there happen to watch Daily Planet tonight. If you did you may have caught a short clip of Jay taking about my bike. I uploaded a video to their site a few days ago (at the request of my 8 year old daughter) and to my surprise they gave it a whole minute of airtime :D ...
I bought the Norco Sasquatch used off craigslist for $500. It was only 2 years old an in excellent condition. Not many people want an XL frame so you can pick them up pretty cheap.
Hi Spiffy,
The book still seams to be selling o.k. at $47 and people who purchase it are very happy with it so I don't have any immediate plans to change the price. I still have to make some changes to the website and if sales drop off I may eventually have to lower the price but for no...
My battery box is around 7 inches wide which isn't the greatest for pedaling. I designed it this way as I had no intention of pedaling the bike,I wanted an electric vehicle to get me to and from work faster than it takes me to drive.
Glad you are enjoying the book. Yes I didn't really expect anyone to build a bike exactly like mine but like you said it's easy to adapt the techinique's I use to fit any type of build.
My neighbor gave me the same suggestion for another book. Just the basics for the average Joe who wants to buy or build a simple bike and sell it for $5 or $10 dollars. I may have to try it.
Pricing the book was difficult, I took me six months to write the book working a few hours a week on it. Once I start getting some regular traffic to the site I plan to split test different prices to see which price generates the most revenue. I will leave the price at $27 until the end of next...
It's definitely a problem with the winding, about 6 broken and melted wires in one spot fairly close to the phase wires. I use 160C as the max temp and that has worked for a year. The motor failed when it was cold, I only rode it about 20 feet before it stopped, maybe a wire broke from repeated...
I would love to build a full suspension version but the bike wouldn't be very useful for me because of the limited space for batteries. I can't charge my bike at work so I have to ride there and back on a single charge (30km trip) which means I need a big battery pack.I also power a heated...
