    Gyro for controlled Wheelies

I remember reading about a dirt bike wheelie record attempt in the 80's (?)... They rigged up some sort of electric motor to the front wheel to keep it spinning while it was in the air, I guess for stability?? I think they were trying to wheelie for quite a fair distance.

Problems with MAC Rear Hub Motor , What did you do ?

I run a MAC rear hub motor with a BB7 caliper. I just machined up a spacer. Could you do something similar? Here are a few pics.... http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=33290&start=15

    Aussie 200 Watt Limit Thread

I've had the same experience as most here - I ride my bike most days and there have been many times where I've been past the police and they don't have a problem with the bike at all. An unmarked car drove up along side of me one day when I was going about 35kph up a hill and once they saw...

Raleigh MTB with MAC 500W & fibreglass panels (AUS)

G'day Ed, It's good to hear that your bike is going well too. I ended up getting a Cycle Analyst for it but I haven't had time to fit it yet, with the rainy weather here I might be able to get it done! I never depended on a bike before, but now that I use it everyday I really...

Raleigh MTB with MAC 500W & fibreglass panels (AUS)

Hi Guys, The bike has just ticked over 2000kms so I thought that I would refresh the thread. It's basically been a trouble free run with it, I'm very happy with both the MAC motor and the Ping battery. The rear tyre is showing more wear on one side than the other. I think it...

    Turnigy meter mount

I've been fitting a Turnigy watt meter to my bike over the last few weeks. I machined up an alloy cradle for it that supports the unit and it has another corresponding half that bolts on from the top to encase the meter. I'll get a photo or two of it in the next few days. -Stu

Is my bike frame disk brake compatible?

My frame also didn't have provision for a rear disc, but the dropouts had a large, solid surface area so I made an adaptor plate.

Raleigh MTB with MAC 500W & fibreglass panels (AUS)

G'day TR, Thanks for that, you are spot on - When I repainted it I wanted it to look a little bit more like a bike and less of something else from a distance! I just gave it a quick mask and spray job to see what it looked like, I'll probably redo it again at some point and...

A kit for commuting with 'future proofing' in mind

G'day Tuna, I'm not sure if mine has a Cycle Analyst plug or not. I've taken a photo of the unused ones and perhaps someone else here might be able to confirm what they are. I think it may be the black one shown. You could also just send an email to Cell_man and I'm sure he'd...

Raleigh MTB with MAC 500W & fibreglass panels (AUS)

G'day LI-ghtcycle, I've been playing around with the colours on the panels, just to see how different things look. I flattened off the red paint and added the black part in the centre. I'm open to any suggestions of what may or may not look good! :D The rear disc...

Raleigh MTB with MAC 500W & fibreglass panels (AUS)

G'day Tuna, I'm using the 8T winding and the Infineon 9 FET controller that Cell_man supplies with his 500w 'speed' rear kit as shown here. http://www.emissions-free.com/catalog/i23.html Top speed is approx 48-52 kph. If I ride everywhere at full speed and don't pedal at...

Raleigh MTB with MAC 500W & fibreglass panels (AUS)

G'day Tuna, Thanks for having a look and for your comments. There are a few other threads here of people making fibreglass battery enclosures, most go inside the 'triangle' part of the frame but I decided to make mine look a bit more integrated into the bike. It's not...

Raleigh MTB with MAC 500W & fibreglass panels (AUS)

An update and video added today. I have now travelled just under 300km on the bike and I'm pretty sure all the bugs have been ironed out. The disc brakes have been a big improvement over the standard v-brakes. I've been doing a few distance runs and the best I have got so far is 44km with...

Raleigh MTB with MAC 500W & fibreglass panels (AUS)

G'day Samd , I'm in the northern suburbs near Tullamarine. Not too far from you if I had a few more batteries on board! As an update on the bike, I have now fitted disc brakes. On the front I'm using a 203mm rotor, which was a simple bolt on fit since the forks already had the mounting...
