Hi,

I am starting with my first build. I want to build a 5'' inches pneumatic wheels board (from enertion?, and therefore constrained to a hub of 64 teeth and a gearing ratio of 4:1).

I have been wondering why there are so few 4wd setups over here, and I am thinking of possible configurations:

option A
4wd: 42mm motors

weight: 243gr * 4= 972gr (plus some extra for the mounting brackets)
4s
calculated top speed (weighted): 25mph
power: 5180W (ESC 250A)

option B
2wd: 63mm motors

weight: 649gr * 2 = 1298gr (plus some extra for the mounting brackets)
10s
calculated top speed: 24mph
power: 4400W (ESC 200A)

option C
2wd: 50mm
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__23521__NTM_Prop_Drive_50_60_Series_380KV_2665W.html
weight: 468gr * 2 = 936gr
7s
calculated top speed: 23mph
power: 5330W (ESC 250A)

I think the price would be +-200€ on any of option, so lets keep this apart.

4wd, or 2wd? which one would you go for, and why?

Option A - 4wd
- What kind of gear reduction you are gonna use with this pretty high KV motors ? Don't forget that smaller pulley mesh belts with a few teeth. What battery pack you expect to use with this motors ? they will need a lot of amps to reach 5KW power

Regards.

Option c: you don't need 4wd for on road use. Even for off road 2wd works. Btw why you need a 250amp ESC? The max you will need is 150amp. You will never reach 250amps your eboard. (I think)
