Last month a friend of mine charged overnight with a store bought pack (I forget the seller right now but common) and luckily the bang of a cell exploding woke him or maybe he and his dog and maybe others in his San Francisco building would be dead from smoke inhalation while asleep. Its worth being awake and close by when charging regardless.
I always shut off the charge at 4.1 but then again im always there checking with a multimeter, cuz not maxing out makes for longer lasting liion packs imho...
