today i had an interesting battery failure that i hadn't encountered before. i was thrashing the bike and pulling 37mph on a long road. when there was a slight loss of power. when i got home and checked the voltages one of the packs was on 0 volts. turns out that the main wires in that pack got too hot and melted the insulation then shorted and fused together. this effectivly cut the pack out of the system. but everything else was ok and it should be an easy fix.

What gauge of wire was that? (not big enough, eh?) How many amps?

It's nice to learn how much these things really take to burn up.

it was only 1mm (copper) diameter i think. i was trying to thread it through the battery case to make it look nice.
