40 kph, 385 kilometers per day on a solar charged ebike

Phenomenal! Looks like it was done on a DIY'ers budget too!

My hat's off to you Bernard!

Yeah, that's what got my attention, I probably have everything he has he just has more of it and not incredibly much more. Put in an order on Amazon and Ebay, do a little cutting, a little welding, a little wiring and be riding solar in a month or two.

Speaking of which, does this thing seem legit to you? I'm not sure I've ever seen a Chinese ad that didn't raise more questions than it answers.

The bike he is on looks a bit like my Alegro:

I am curious what panels and charge controller he may be using. Not for my Alegro; for my, slowly evolving, solar trike project.

You may be able to get these from Jack Rickard of EVTV. He didn't do a show last week. I know his street was closed and under water from the storm that flooded Missouri. :-(

Suntrip 2015:
Everyone packed a fair amount of battery. 800-1100 watt hours of battery pretty much across the board. I didn't see any packs above 1100 watt hours so I presume ruling must have limited that.

Bernard (the guy in your video) was one of the few contestants to not use a trailer and came in first place with ~300 watt panel but it's my suspicion that his legs did quite a lot of the work too.

Here's a list of the other panel sizes just to give you some ideas.
Raf Hulle: 280watt
Tom Papay: 220 watts in use 440 watts parked and unfolded
Dirk Huyghe: 250 watt
Oliver Reginensi: 300 watt
Antonio De Chiara: 500 watts while in use 700 watts parked and unfolded
Denis Bertet: 240 watt
Arno Liegeon: 250 watt
Paul Bermejo: 200 watt
Henri: 200 watt
Pauline de la Marnierre: 300 while riding 600watts deployed.
Francois Mendez: 300 watts
Andreas Nandita: 260 in use 390 watts parked and unfolded
