Crank drive goes Shimano Alfine 8

Almost finished now. The box is ready, the wiring is what is left.
I used some fake carbon stickers from 3M to wrap the aluminium box. A hairdryer works good to soften it up and form the film aroudn the edges.

Tight with BMS and cells inside. I wanted to have the box as small as possible. But I think that it still looks big on this small bike.

The sidecovers plastic that I machined, similar to Keplers battery pack and then covered with black plastidip (thank you for the inspiration I hope you dont mind me copy it) http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=65719

Great work, looks store bought :D .the xt60 will be a good addition.

hi allex,
very nice work, way outside my skillset, but interesting to me as I just bought an all steel frame with Alfine 8 and belt drive, hoping to add a geared front hub in the future. I've ridden a Nexus 7 since 2001, have really beat it on the hills of San Francisco, some trails, with no problems. Added a 36v front geared hub a year and a half ago. A good combo for commuting, though the roller brake is dodgy in traffic as the throttle is left and rear brake is right. Hoping, of course, for the same durability with the 8. Thanks for sharing your build...

Thx, it stills holds up well after around 2000km now. Or about 60 battery cycles.

150 W Ersa 150S is the one I used, it is wonderful to work with such powerful tool.
